Taylor Swift, the pop icon presently on her Eras Tour, has been making news for her completely sold-out venues and exorbitant ticket prices. She might make up to $1.5 billion from the tour alone, according to reports.
So it should come as no surprise that the former residence of the pop diva, located on Cornelia Street in the West Village district of New York City, is advertised for $18 million, or is available for rent at $45,000 per month or $50,000 per month furnished. Her now-popular song “Cornelia Street” was inspired by the 153-year-old carriage house on 23 Cornelia Street, which has been completely refurbished on the inside while retaining its famous brick exterior. In 2016, the “Blank Space” singer rented the house for $39,500 a month while having work done on her Tribeca property.
The 5,500 square foot landmarked house features four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. It was constructed in 1870 as a carriage house, which is a special structure used to hold a person’s horse-drawn carriage. It still has two front doors for entry and a private drive-in garage, which is unusual in New York. The 27-foot double-height ceilings, gorgeous hardwood floors, and expansive living spaces are features of the 21-foot-wide townhouse.
The 30-foot by 15-foot, 5.5-foot-deep pool, an outdoor garden, a gas fireplace, and a gym are all located on a level below the garage. The second story is located above the garage level, which also houses one of the guest suites. The main living area boasts blonde parquet Russian Ipe wood floors and a double-height beamed ceiling. Casement windows that let in lots of natural light make the space spacious and bright. The dining area and kitchen on this floor are both well-lit and equipped with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances as well as granite countertops. A guest suite that can be utilized as a bedroom or an office is also located on this level.
On the third story, there is the main bedroom and one other guest suite, each with a private patio, spa-like bathroom, and walk-in closet. Casement windows surround the walls of the bedrooms, and French doors lead out onto terraces with views of Cornelia Street. Particularly in the main bedroom, there is a magnificent marble bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and skylight in addition to a gas fireplace in the outside patio.
Finally, the rooftop patio on the subsequent floor above gives breathtaking views of Manhattan’s city. There is plenty of space for outdoor seats and beautiful landscaping here. There is even space for a putting green, an outdoor kitchen, or whatever else you choose. The Corcoran Group’s Laurence Carty, Irene Lo, and Jennifer Rahilly are the realtors for the property.
Swift still has real estate in New York City even though she may no longer call this Cornelia Street home. She bought two neighboring penthouses from Lord of the Rings filmmaker Peter Jackson in 2014 in Tribeca’s famed and historic Sugar Loaf Building, which is home to numerous famous people. She combined the penthouses into one enormous penthouse, adding a billiards room, ten bedrooms, and ten baths to the space.
