I asked the question on social media, “Tell me what annoys you about Realtors, their advertising, those “tricks” they use or anything else that irritates you about Realtors.”
Here are some of the responses:
- Sold in 2 days. Yes, Sandra, EVERYONE sells in two days right now.
- I absolutely hate the fake handwritten letters I get in the mail telling me how much I could get for my house if I use their services. Actually, any letter from an agent I don’t know is annoying.
- I hate the flyers that litter my doorstep every day.
- Personally, I hate the calls asking me if I want to sell my property. I can assure you that if I decide to sell, my real estate person will sell it for me.
- I don’t like having to give my email or phone number in order to view listings on a web site.
- Any unsolicited texts get reported as spam. I will assure you when the time comes, I know who I will call.
- One thing that really annoys me is that I get added to Realtor email distribution lists. I should not have to unsubscribe from a list that I didn’t sign up for.
- Links on social media that makes you enter your email address to look at the listing.
- Not putting the price on the ad.
- We guarantee to sell your house for the asking price in x days or we’ll buy it from you. Then never quoting the dozens of requirements you have to meet first.
- Flooding Facebook community pages with ads.
- I hate Realtors who advertise that they buy your house and then OpenDoor really buys it.
- I hate all of the OpenDoor mailings I get to my home.
